What does Criw Cymraeg do?

Criw Cymraeg monitors the use of the Welsh language in our school and offer support to teachers/pupils if necessary. We love to count Dojos and announce which class has won the ‘Criw Cymraeg’ award each week.

We also introduce the weekly ‘Patrwm yr Wythnos’  in our whole school assembly.

When does Criw Cymraeg meet?

We meet every Tuesday lunchtime with Mrs Tumelty and Miss Gange. We discuss how we can help the school as we work towards achieving the Siarter Iaith, Silver Award / Gwobr Arian.

Who is the Criw Cymraeg?

‘Criw Cymraeg’ consists of children from Y1 -Y6.

You may have spotted us around the school in our red hoodies!

The Siarter Iaith provides us with a clear framework, which can be used to promote and increase the use of Welsh by children in a whole school context. In a nutshell, the Siarter Iaith’s main aim is to promote a strong Welsh ethos in schools and to provide a range of enriching activities that propel the children to enjoy learning Welsh.
